What is this job title called ?
🚂 🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗
Is this port of houston?
No wonder some cars come all fucked up from The suspension
That’s such a coincidence everything is the same car
I used to operate the locomotive that shoved rail cats in and out of your loading pads. Nothing like seeing a van full of guys speeding through the parking lot, going to get a group of cars.
what kind of locomotive did you operate?
@@danzo5521 GM Electrodyne
I start this job next week, any tips for a newbie?
yikes can the guy in the nissan scratch that bumper up any more? No respect
How long to load a whole autorack?
Ah, so the railcars are connected together with ramps to load/unload multiple railcars at once. I figured that was probably how it was done, but other videos I saw only showed the railcar at the end. I assume the smaller ramps that bridge the gap from car to car are integrated into the traincars themselves?
So basically the cars are connected with what are called “plates”, these are metal slabs that are locked in to place on each level before or after the level is done by the loaders. This makes this extremely dangerous. When watching the clip of multiple cars coming through and they go up a little in the air, that’s the plate moving/shifting/lifting/etc.
I'd Imagine this is alot of drugs are moved
El sueño americano
This are usually the best trained drivers since they must railroad and ships.
General Motors Plant at the junction of highways 640 and 15 in Boisbriand, Quebec had such these , for their cars coming right-off the assembly line during the 70's , 80's and late 90's , before they closed shop forever in 2001 , leaving 1200 unionized technicians on welfare in a blink of the eye and turning the vaste industrial site into a commercial Shopping Mall with 400 stores in 2006 , after 3 full years of demolition and grounds decontamination
They're just breaking in the car before the owner does.
yes not much care taken with others belongings
Are the cars tied down?

0:01 thats sound like a drift car
Damn! You guys are hauling ass. No wonder why new vehicles at the dealerships are always messed up.
PSA, mute the video
Cool
I knew that used a ramp to load it but I didn’t know they could load several train cars like that in one go
Man this all we used to do, day in and day out. Good times.

This would be such an interesting video without the goddamn gay music.
10 mph my ass. DAMN!!!
He is not showing the danger of the guys having to secure these vehicles down quickly. Climbing, falling, and pulling yourself to safety are constant must do tasks in this field. My insurance company said a lot of people seem to be falling off of trains lately doing this job.
You have absolutely no idea what in the hell you're talking about. Some thing some guy said isn't a fact, it's a story. A terrible one. Shut the hell up why don't you.
true. especially in the snow and ice. and in the summer your all sweaty and that can be a factor on ladders.
healing up after breaking my ankle off Jefferson in Detroit. Chrysler plant. This job is so incredibly dangerous, These guys deserve $50 an hour and a more sane system to climb onto rail cars on the upper level. As well as a better way to go from one car to the next without having to fall, catch and pull yourself up. I was pushed into the 10th hour too early in my training due to the pandemic, not the company. We signed on to load ALL the cars. The entire system is just out of date.
Seen some bad injuries working there. one reason i left.
I’m a driver I watch them load in Wentzville,Mo Flat Rock Mi. Wayne Mi. and Fort Wayne
You know, if there is a problem doing it this way, I suspect that in 50 years or so they have worked out all the bugs, just sayin.
Just saying what?
How do the drivers get out of the cars again? Do they have to walk through the entire train?
yea and climb down. and do it again over and over.
@@grimmvargo My god. That must take a couple of years for one man. Guess there are up to 50 people or so loading the cars.
Just don’t forget to brake when reaching the end/front, or you’ll have to circle back again ;)
I kinda think. At that height a drop would certainly prevent looping back
Oh wow. So THAT'S what happens. You learn something new everyday, I tell ya!
wait, do you have to walk back?
Probably, idk I never did this before
of course
I've literally watched 1000s of vehicles get trashed at Autoport and Hansens. I would never purchase a vehicle shipped by either company. Ever seen a car have it's clutch destroyed with 10km on the odometer? Ever wonder why your car have problems, well someone didn't give a F about it and just rip the hell out of it!
Nothing wrong with breaking in a new engine. thrashing...i don't think so.
I'm going to check out the underside of the new Ford Maverick I just ordered....
Many years back I got a 'Switch List' and was told to switch our Automotive facility. What the clerks forgot to note was that one of the loaded tracks the vehicles had not yet been chained down yet. Yes, you are correct. They came out the far end of the track when I pulled. Fortunately with all the ruptured gasoline tanks there wasn't an immediate fire. Our 'Clerk' Jobs have now been contracted out and I'm retired after 37 years. It's YOUR HEADACHE NOW !
lol saw a guy drive out the top without a ramp. early in the morning first car .just not paying attention....boom. he was straight up and down.looking at us asking what happened. lmao...
@@grimmvargo You Nailed It! Thankfully I wasn't accused of any wrong doing(blame shifting on the New Guy). But was wrongfully accused of other accusations. By the 'Grace of God' I got out of there after 37 years and the BNSF RWY Vice President flew into Los Angeles to host my Suprise retirement party. At his presentation he said when he researched my disciplin record he couldn't find anything and thought the computer was wrong. But it was correct so that's why he was so interested in me. Other guys weren't so lucky and fell victim to malicious disciplin to make the supervisor 'Look Good'. Other's were injured or killed. Thanks again for replying to my post ! Wes Surf City, Calif †
Nice suspension testing!
Very cool!

When someone gets in a new car at dealership, get blasted with rageing rap😆
I don't think you understand how new cars work.
So do yall stay inside of the freight train cuz when it comes to amtrak the crew loads the cars for u I guess then u ride in the super liner coaches
cuz u actually literally
@@User0000000000000004 What?
no just unload and load.
My grandfather tells stories of how guys would break into the autocarriers as the train was moving amd strip the vehicles of parts like transmissions and tires and stuff, and than toss them off at designated areas. They could go car to car and steal thousands of dollars worth of parts.
Strip a transmission off a car, huh? I think what you meant to say was "steal hubcaps" but the railroads would ship the hubcaps in the trunk of the cars and they'd be locked. Stop telling your lies, moron.
opened them to find all the batteries missing one time. try unload cars without power in tight spaces.
@@grimmvargo that's a lot of damn work just to steal batteries

Do u have like a dash 8 amtrak unit cuz ik u have to have a p42 locomotive
Cool! How much dose this job of loading cars pay?
depends the company. it is good pay. forced overtime a lot so that makes it better. you must work sometimes 7 days a week cause you need to work with the railroad which work everyday.
Could you document the rust removing chemical brands, new label replacement links and replacement parts locations..? As I just found a 1980 tan/vanilla motobecane at a bike shop for $120.😆👍🏾
I was hoping that they would show every detail in how they load the cars. Those cars must be strapped or the wheels locked to travel in those railroad cars.
Wheels locked? You mean in park?
Trains are not known for starting and stopping that quickly. 0 to 30 in about 10 minutes.
the wheels are chocked down.
